Governance Statement

SKINFORMED is a nurse-led clinic. This statement sets out the professional standards behind every appointment, so you know exactly who is treating you and how your safety is protected.

Professional registration

SKINFORMED is led by a registered nurse regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), with a clinical background spanning more than ten years in NHS emergency and intensive care, a children's nursing degree, and a professional diploma in clinical dermatology. Registration details are available on request and can be verified on the NMC public register.

Prescribing

Prescription-only medicines are only ever supplied following a face-to-face assessment with an appropriately qualified prescriber, in line with current regulatory guidance.

Consultation and consent

Every treatment journey begins with an individual consultation: medical history, suitability, alternatives, risks and expected outcomes are discussed honestly before anything goes ahead. Written consent is taken and revisited - and no is always a complete answer.

Safeguarding

As a children's-trained nurse offering a dedicated Junior service, safeguarding is central to practice. Children are always seen with a parent or guardian, and concerns are handled in line with statutory safeguarding duties.

Hygiene and safety

Treatments are carried out with single-use equipment where appropriate, strict infection-control standards, and emergency protocols in place, including the management of rare complications.

Insurance

The clinic holds appropriate medical malpractice and public liability insurance. Certificate details are available on request.
